With lot tracking for batching total traceability and validation is available on both semi-automatic and automatic batching control systems.
Lot tracking for batching is increasingly required for feed, food and Petfood applications. In some industry markets it may be a requirement by rule or law. Sterling Systems & Controls can customize the batching control system to include as little or as much lot tracking tracking for batching and traceability as the customer wants to implement. It will depend on the customer ability to fund and implement the tracking system.
Several inventory strategies are available. FIFO is the most common. Operators will be required to enter a valid lot number before the system will proceed. This data entry can be done by scanning a barcode or manual data entry. The Batching Control System will include an Ingredient Lot Table. This contains records for each unique lot number of each ingredient. New records are added to this table when the ingredient is received. Sterling Systems works to provide a customized approach based on the requirements of each customer.
