Semi Automatic Batching Station

Sterling Systems & Controls, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of its affordable Semi-Automatic Batching Station, which can eliminate bad batches typically associated with manual batching and assist in meeting product safety goals with lot tracking and batch validation capabilities.

This Semi-Automatic Batching Station serves a wide range of industrial applications where the adverse effects of time-consuming and problematic manual batching need to be improved. The batching station utilizes operator involvement through each step in the batching process. It provides automated operator instructions or prompting, ingredient lot tracking, automatic weighing with over/under tolerance control, assures compliance with recipe/formula, etc. Eliminating bad batches resulting from operator error and interruption is a primary benefit.

The Semi-Automatic Batching Station is a Hand Prompt System. Its PC will ask the operator to add ingredients to the batch for weighing and sequence an operator through the chosen recipe/formula one ingredient at a time. The Semi-Automatic Hand Prompt Batching Station ensures that each ingredient is added to the container, is within your programmed weight tolerance, and that the ingredient lot is correctly logged before the batching station will index to the next required ingredient. This ensures that the operator creates accurate batching.

The Sterling Systems & Controls’ Semi-Automatic Hand Prompt Batching Station provides real-time records for each batch produced. This ensures the highest standards by ensuring a consistently batched product. As batches are made, the batching station records the ingredient and batch data and can print batch reports locally. Additional reports and data can be printed on a networked printer (batching station must be connected to your network). The printout provides a hard copy of each ingredient identification and lot and the required and actual weights according to the recipe/formula run.  A time and date is also stamped on each report at the start and end of the batch.

If an alarm occurs during batch creation, the batching station can print an alarm message, enabling a supervisor to review the operator’s performance and track problems that may occur later. Batching reports can be printed automatically at the end of a batch or recalled and printed on demand through either the Semi-Automatic Hand Prompt Batching Station software or WebCentral™ (optional supervisory control software application).

A barcode scanner can be provided and attached to the batching station using a NEMA4X quick-disconnect bulkhead connector mounted on the control panel. A wireless version of the barcode scanner is also available. The barcode scanner must be removed prior to any washdown of the batching station control panel. Many options are available.
