And what is the latest news about food safety from the US government? Not always good. Scientists, it seems, are blaming the government’s low prioritization of regulatory support for “listeria” as the likely cause of an outbreak.  Read more.  As illnesses and deaths occurred due to a Listeria outbreak from a food manufacturing company, the US government blames the company CEO, but a jury decision 10-2 in favor of acquittal didn’t buy it.

And what does W.H.O. (World Health Organization) have to say on the subject of Food Safety news? “Access to sufficient amounts of safe and nutritious food is key to sustaining life and promoting good health. Unsafe food containing harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites or chemical substances causes more than 200 diseases, ranging from diarrhea to cancers. It also creates a vicious cycle of disease and malnutrition, particularly affecting infants, young children, elderly and the sick. Good collaboration between governments, producers and consumers is needed to help ensure food safety and stronger food systems.” Now they are known for their statements of obviousness.  Here is a link if you want to read more.
